The 2014 Honda Jazz was launched in Malaysia in three variants yesterday. The order book for the Jazz opened in the country at the start of the month and so far over 500 units have been booked.
The Jazz which is locally assembled by Honda Malaysia's Meleka plant is available in three variants - S,E and V. All the variants are powered by the 1.5-litre i-VTEC petrol engine which develops 120 PS (118.3 bhp) and 145 Nm of torque. A CVT gearbox is standard across the range and the claimed fuel economy stands at 17.81 km/l.
The top-end V trim is equipped with 6 airbags, ABS, Vehicle Stability Assist, Hill Start Assist, Emergency Start Stop signal, 16-inch alloy wheels, touchscreen multimedia infotainment system, touch panel for automatic climate control, Siri Eyes Free smartphone interface, keyless entry and start and multi-function steering wheel.
The Jazz is priced between 72,800 RM (INR 13.74 lakhs) and 87,800 RM (INR 16.58 lakhs).
Honda is also offering Malaysian customers two styling packages - Modulo and Mugen. The Modulo pack adds a bodykit, silver pedals and illuminated side steps to the car, while the Mugen gets a spoiler and sportier alloy wheels. The Modulo costs RM 2,650 (INR 50,000) and the Mugen RM 4,900 (INR 92,500).
In India, Honda will launch the new Jazz this financial year, most probably in the early part of the next calendar year.
