Mercedes-Benz India have launched a special edition variant on the C Class. Called the Mercedes-Benz C Class Edition C, this variant celebrates the 10 millionth sale of the C Class globally since its launch in 1993.
The Edition C will be available in a single trim level - the C220 CDI. This variant is powered by a 2.2-liter four-cylinder diesel engine producing 170 hp and 400 Nm of torque. 0-100 km/h is dispatched in 8.1 seconds while the top-speed stands at 231 km/h. So basically, there are no mechanical changes in the Edition C compared to the regular C220 CDI.
Its on the outside where the Edition C differs, featuring a high-gloss black finish for the radiator grille and the fins. Mercedes have also included an AMG styling kit which sees the addition of front and rear bumper spoilers and side skirts. The 17-inch alloy wheels come in a two-tone, high-sheen finish featuring five spokes, while the headlights get a dark tint.
Inside, the Edition C gets a new navigation system which is fully integrated into the infotainment system. Other features include sports seats, an electric sunroof, contrast stitching for the interiors and the steering wheel, ambient lighting and 1/3:2/3 split folding rear seats.
Only 500 units of the Edition C will be made. The Edition C is priced at INR 39.16 lakhs (ex-Showroom, Mumbai).
