Jaguar revealed the coupé variants of its famous F-Type at the 2013 Tokyo Motor Show today. Joining the standard F-Type and F-Type S coupé is a new range-topping F-Type R coupé.
The F-Type R coupé gets a 5.0-litre V8 supercharged engine that produces 550 PS and 680 Nm of torque, capable of going from 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) in 4.0 seconds and an electronically limited top-speed of 186 mph (297.6 km/h).
Completing the range, the F-Type S coupé and F-Type coupé produce 380 PS and 340 PS respectively. A 3.0-litre supercharged V6 does the duty on these models, and achieves the 0-60 mph in 4.8 and 5.1 seconds respectively, with top-speeds of 171 mph (273 km/h) and 161 mph (257 km/h).
An all-new Carbon Ceramic Matrix braking system, coupled with a torque vectoring by braking system gives optimum handling in the F-Type R coupé. All variants get an eight-speed Quickshift transmission with full manual sequential control via steering wheel-mounted paddles or the central SportShift lever.
The F-TYPE Coupé's body side is made from a single piece aluminium pressing, probably the most extreme cold-formed aluminium body side in the automotive industry, claims Jaguar.
