As we reported earlier, Mercedes-Benz is showcasing the 2014 S65 AMG at the 2013 Tokyo Motor Show, and will later preview the same at the Los Angeles Auto as well.
The car is basically the most expeditious beast of the brute version (S63 AMG) of the company’s commanding model of today, the new S Class. The acme of the buzz around the S65 AMG would be its 6.0 litre Bi-turbo V12 engine under its hood, capable of producing a mouth-watering output of 630 hp and 1000 Nm of torque.
This long wheelbase S Class is ultra-refined thanks to its exclusive AMG touch, and is said to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in just 4.3 secs with a top-speed of 250 km/h. With CO2 emissions of 279 g/km, the S65 is claimed to be the world’s most-fuel efficient V12, which is already compliant with EU6 emission standards of 2015. Not that the potential customer could really care of course.
The highlights of the car include AMG’s pro-performance 7G-TRONIC gearbox, suspension with Road Surface Scan, speed-sensitive steering with variable steering ratio, AMG carbon-ceramic braking system (optional), light-weight Lithium-ion battery, carbon-fibre engine cover and light-alloy wheels both forged with AMG badging.
The S65 AMG, will reach German showrooms by March next year with a price tag of 232,050 Euros (INR 1.95 crores).
