Suzuki Malaysia have previewed a limited edition version of the Swift called the 'RR Edition'. Sales of this edition is expected to commence from mid-November and only 200 units will be made.
The Suzuki Swift RR is based on the base GL variant of the Swift. A four-piece body kit costing about RM 5,300 (INR 1.03 lakhs) sees the addition of front and rear bumper splitters, side body skirts and a roof spoiler. Two black stripes and racing decals on the doors have also been added, while the front bumper has been blackened just below the grille. 15-inch black alloy wheels and a couple of 'RR' emblems complete the exterior package. Inside, Suzuki will offer a Blaupunkt double-din touchscreen music system with an integrated GPS system and a reverse camera.
Paultan estimates the RR to cost about RM 70,000 (INR 13.7 lakhs).
There are no mechanical changes on the Malaysian Swift and it continues to be powered by a 1.4-liter VVT K-Series engine outputting 95 PS and 130 Nm of torque. Two variants (GL and GLX) are available, both featuring a 4-speed automatic transmission.
Suzuki also sells the Swift Sport in Malaysia which is powered by a 1.6-liter VVT engine producing 134 PS and 160 Nm of torque. The Sport is offered with a 6-speed manual transmission or with an automatic CVT unit. Either way, 0-100km/h is dispatched in 8.7 seconds.
