Suzuki has announced that the Swift Sport SZ-R special edition will go on sale in the UK from March 1st.
The special edition model aims at providing an added individuality to customers who demand it. The Swift Sport SZ-R comes dressed in a Cosmic Black exterior paint with a contrasting Ablaze Red coloring for the roof, wing mirrors and the rear spoiler.
Coming to interiors, the sporty two door hatchback gets a red accented gear knob, floor mats and contrast red stitching to the steering wheel and seats. This limited edition car will also have unique numbered door sills.
Standard equipment includes seven airbags, climate control, cruise control, Bluetooth and USB connectivity, 17" wheels and HID projector headlamps.
The Suzuki Swift Sport SR-Z is powered by the same 1.6 litre petrol engine which powers the regular Swift Sport. The power output stands at 136 bhp and the car accelerates to 100km/h from rest in just 8.7 seconds before managing a top whack of 194 kmph.
Only 100 units will be built making it a highly exclusive special edition. At £14,249 (around Rs. 11.63 lakhs), it is pricier than the regular Swift Sport by £500 (around Rs. 40,800)
The Swift Sport is a car that many of the Indian Swift loyalists are longing for, but the huge demand for the regular Swift keeps Maruti too busy to think about the Sport version.
With Fiat having confirmed the Abarth version of the Punto and with VW planning a TSI version for the Polo, would Maruti contemplate entering the hot-hatch market as well?
