The Swift Sport is one of the most affordable hot hatches around and it's a shame that we Indians are deprived of it.
Let's think from Maruti's point of view. When your product has a waiting period as long as the Indian constitution (which is by the way the world's lengthiest constitution) would you bother to come up with an additional variant?
While we quench our thirst for Swift Sport by resorting to after market modifications, Suzuki is going to showcase a revised five-door version of the Swift Sport at the Australian international motor show which kick starts on 19th of this month.
The car was revealed earlier this year at the Tokyo motor show.
The Swift Sport has very aggressive styling elements all around. The front is characterized by a sharp chin spoiler and stylish fog lamp housing. The good looking HID bulbs sit inside the smoked headlamp housing. The strip that splits the grill and the lower air dam is finished in black to make the entire thing look like a single unit when viewed from a distance.
The side gets restyled skirts and big flamboyant alloy wheels. Moving onto the rear, the Swift Sport takes a leaf out of supercar design book. The rear bumper is reminiscent to that of the front, the chrome tipped twin exhausts and a purposeful spoiler suggest that this is no normal Swift.
The dashboard design is similar to the regular model, the steering is chunky and features minor changes in the spokes. The Swift Sport comes with racing bucket seats.
There is no news about the powertrain, however the Swift Sport is expected to use the same 1.6 litre 136 HP unit which will provide a sprightly performance.
