Will launch in two variants: Comfortline and Highline.
Rushlane has managed to acquire the 2017 VW Tiguan's feature list ahead of its launch this month. It will be sold in two variants: Comfortline and Highline and prices are expected to range between INR 25 Lakhs -27 Lakhs (ex-showroom).
Some of the new features mentioned by Rushlane include a power-operated tailgate with height adjustability, handsfree feature by swiping feet under the rear bumper to open the said tailgate, 3-way rear split seats, foldable airline-style tables for rear occupants with cup holders, manual sliding rear seats, panoramic sunroof, and front/rear parking sensors with rear camera. Infotainment services come from a 6.5-inch touchscreen system with support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and has an 8-speaker audio system.
In the safety department, the VW Tiguan will come with a slew of features as standard, such as six airbags, ABS with ‘CHOKE’ effect, EBD, TCS, ESP, keyless entry, keyless start/stop, and segment-first RE-ACTIVE HOOD, which opens the hood by 22 mm if there is a pedestrian impact.
Other new features discussed before are LED headlights, virtual release pedal, automatic climate control, faux leather upholstery and 18-inch wheels (17-inch for Comfortline). The only engine option is a 2.0-litre TDI turbocharged four-cylinder diesel engine linked to a 7-speed DSG dual-clutch automatic transmission, which sends power via a 4MOTION AWD system. Expect fuel mileage of the Tiguan TDI to hover around 18 km/L.
