The VW T-Cross Breeze concept has been unveiled at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show. Volkswagen announced that the VW Tiguan and the VW Touareg will be joined by 3 new SUVs in the future, and the T-Cross is a design precursor to these.
"The T-Cross Breeze reflects the new start of our brand”, says VW's design head Klaus Bischoff. “We want to stir enthusiasm for ‘New Volkswagen’," he added.
The SUV is 4133 mm long, 1798 mm wide, 1563 mm tall, and has a wheelbase of 2565 mm. Its boot volume is nearly 300 liters.
Painted in the 'Summer Green Metallic' paint, the car features LED headlights, LED taillights, as well as large LED rings around the fog lights. Inside, it features the next-generation human-machine interface (HMI) with almost no buttons, a new generation of digital instrumentation called the Active Info Display, new configurable Head Unit and BeatsAudio sound system.
The four-meter SUV is equipped with a 110 PS 1.0 litre TSI petrol engine which makes 175 Nm of torque, and is mated to a 7-speed DSG dual clutch gearbox. Weighing 1,250 kg, it takes 10.3 seconds for it to reach 100 km/h and reaches a top speed of 188 km/h. Fuel consumption and CO2 values are set at 20 km/l and 115 g/km.
