Top-end variant offers ABS, dual airbags and ISOFIX points as standard.
Automobile Central Enterprise, Inc. (ACEI) the official distributor of Volkswagen models in the Philippines, has launched the VW Polo facelift for a price of Php 950,000 (INR 13.35 lakhs). The Polo for the Philippines is manufactured at VW India’s Chakan facility, which exports the Polo and Vento to over 32 countries.
For the Philippines market, the Polo facelift is powered by a 1.6-liter four-cylinder naturally-aspirated engine producing 105 PS and 153 Nm of torque, matched to a 6-speed automatic transmission as standard. It is to be noted that VW India was offering this engine (albeit with a 5-speed manual transmission) on the Polo, but discontinued it due to poor demand.
In the Indian market, the Polo facelift was launched in July 2014, and is also offered in the Cross Polo bodystyle. VW India offers the hatch with 1.2L petrol, 1.2L TSI with 7-speed DSG and 1.5-liter TDI in two power states of 90 PS and 105 PS.
The Polo facelift in Philippines comes with dual SRS airbags, ABS, anti-theft alarm, park distance control and ISOFIX points as standard. The music system is VW’s RCD 320 which comes with CD/MP3/Bluetooth/USB and AUX-in.
