Next generation model under development.
VW is showcasing the Phaeton Exclusive Edition at the ongoing 2015 Geneva Motor Show. The flagship car in VW's stable, will in fact continue in the lineup with a next generation model reportedly under development.
Despite having announced a cost-cutting program which aims to save 5 billion Euros (340 billion INR) by 2017, VW will in fact keep the loss making Phaeton - described as one of the three most loss making European cars of modern times - alive.
The Phaeton Exclusive Edition is showcased on the long wheelbase version of the luxury sedan, and adds unique design touches such as exclusive Pearl or Blue body colors, with 5 twin-spoke alloy wheels.
The model here is powered by a 3.0-liter V6 diesel engine which is capable of 245 PS, and delivers 11.76 km/l with CO2 emissions of 224 g/km. A 6-speed automatic transmission sends the drive to all wheels via VW's 4MOTION all wheel drive system.
The Phaeton Exclusive edition is seen with the 4-seater option package. With this package, rear seat passengers have individual access to the climate control of the AC, entertainment system and seat ventilation/heating function.
Showcased with a full-beige upholstery, the Phaeton Exclusive edition gets piano black inserts for the steering wheel, dashboard and center console.
