The VW Panamericana is designed for 400 applications.
VW has unveiled a new VW Multivan Panamericana Edition at the VAG Night, ahead of its motor show debut at the 2015 IAA in Frankfurt. It features exclusive exterior touches, and packs a twin-turbo diesel engine.
Under the hood, the Volkswagen Multivan Panamericana comes with a two-liter twin turbo diesel engine that outputs 204 hp and 450 Nm through a seven-speed DSG, which sends the torque to all four wheels via VW's 4-Motion AWD system. It's also equipped with a mechanical locked differential for optimized traction.
The Multivan Panamericana is finished in a white livery and contrasting body cladding, and a red accent on the lower front fascia and across the side profile. It also gets flared wheel arches, side skirts and black gloss 18-inch alloy wheels. The front bumper comes with a silver skid plate for extra protection underneath.
Inside, the upholstery is color-coordinated, with white plastic and faux carbon fiber panels, and seats with carbon-fiber and white contrast stitching. In the passenger compartment, an aluminum checker plate replaces the standard floor carpeting.
VW claim that the Panamericana edition is designed for 400 applications, one of which was unveiled during the event - transporting a bike (a Ducati Panigale in this instance) at the back.
