Volkswagen CEO Dr. Herbert Diess confirmed at the Annual Media Conference last week that Volkswagen will offer the VW Arteon as a shooting brake as well. In the latest, Kolesa.ru has presented speculative renderings of the VW Arteon Shooting Brake to give an early look at what’s on the way.
The VW Arteon Shooting Brake retains the sportiness of the coupe despite the additional bodywork, with a similar coupe-style roofline. The 4-door coupe version offers a boot space of 563 litres, expandable to 1,557 litres on folding the rear seats. The Shooting Brake version will offer increased boot space. The bigger luggage compartment will allow the owner to load up much bigger objects.
Volkswagen is likely to offer the VW Arteon Shooting Brake with the same engines as the regular Arteon. This would mean buyers getting to choose from 150 PS 1.5L TSI Evo, 190 PS 2.0L TSI and 280 PS 2.0L TSI turbocharged petrol engines and 150 PS 2.0L TDI, 190 PS 2.0L TDI and 240 PS 2.0L TDI turbocharged diesel engines. Transmission choices will include 6-speed manual and 7-speed DSG dual-clutch automatic. 4MOTION permanent AWD system will also be offered.
