Triumph have introduced 6 CKD motorcycles and 4 CBUs. This post takes a look at the fully imported cruisers and adventure bikes.
Bookings for Triumph's offerings begin in the second week of December. By the end of this year, dealerships in Bangalore and Hyderabad will be operational, while January 2014 will see Mumbai and New Delhi get their Triumph outlets. By March next year, Triumph will have 9 dealers covering cities such as Chennai, Kolkata, Pune, Ahmedabad and Cochin. The company is aiming to sell about 400-500 units in the first 6 months.
1. Triumph Rocket III Roadster
The Rocket III is the flagship model for Triumph India. Priced at INR 20 lakhs, the Rocket III is powered by a 2,294cc, in-line, three-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine mated to a 5-speed gearbox. It produces a maximum power of 148 PS and peak torque of 221 Nm.
2. Triumph Thunderbird Storm
The second cruiser in Triumph's lineup is much more accessible in terms of price at INR 13 lakhs. Power comes from a 1,699cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine mated to a 6-speed gearbox, producing 98 PS and 156 Nm of torque.
3. Triumph Tiger Explorer
The Tiger Explorer and 800 XC are categorized under the Adventure range of bikes. The Explorer gets a 1,215cc, liquid-cooled, in-line, three-cylinder engine producing 137 PS and 121 Nm of torque. It is priced at INR 17.9 lakhs.
4. Triumph Tiger 800 XC
The 800 XC is powered by a 799cc, liquid-cooled, in-line, three-cylinder engine producing 95 PS and 79 Nm of torque. Triumph have priced it at INR 12 lakhs.
