Toyota has taken the wraps off their new crossover Toyota RAV4 at the ongoing Los Angeles Auto Show.
The crossover SUV is given a comprehensive redesign and as a result the car looks completely different and more aggressive than the previous version. The new design language is modern and the front fascia sports cues that are derived from the Auris hatchback, especially the front grill and the headlamps.
On the side, the roof slopes towards the rear making way for a unique rear quarter glass. The rear of the car is well executed and the tail lamps remind us the Mitsubishi Outlander a little bit.
Inside, the asymmetrical dashboard sports circular aircon vents. The higher-end RAV4 comes with a 6.1" touch screen multimedia system with 11 speaker JBL GreenEdge audio system and leather upholstery.
The car is powered by a 2.5 litre petrol engine that develops 176 bhp and is coupled with a new 6-speed automatic transmission. The RAV4 is equipped with all wheel drive system which has three modes - Auto, Lock and Sport. There is no diesel on offer yet.
In a reply to Indian Autos Blog's query, TKM's Sandeep Singh said that they have no ambitions to bring the RAV4 to India.
