The Indonesian Motor Show is turning out to be very important from the Indian perspective. You must have seen the spy shots of the new Toyota Innova that we brought you earlier this year. Now, Toyota Indonesia has finally unveiled the new Innova and there are a few important upgrades to talk about.
The exterior is not massively changed but some major tweaks to the headlamps and the front grill gives it a very fresh look. From head on, it reminds you of the old corolla Altis with broader headlamps. The tail lamps have been tweaked as well with the new Innova having three sections instead of the current two.
On the inside, part of the dashboard has been redesigned to fit in a new infotainment system. There is a splash of plastic wood that surrounds the infotainment system. The knobs to set the AC blow, temperature and speed are gone and are now replaced by sleek buttons. The steering wheel is lifted from the Corolla Altis.
In Indonesia, it is launched with a 2.0 liter petrol engine with both Automatic and Manual variants. Overall, it is a very typical Toyota facelift – just a little tweaks here and there.
Back is India, the Toyota Innova is doing decent numbers and the major focus of Toyota India will be on Etios and Liva. So we don’t expect the new Innova to be launched anytime soon. Toyota Kirloskar Motor is discussing with Toyota Motor Corporation on the launch time frame of the new Innova.
Nonetheless, we want to know how do you like the MUV? Thumbs up or Thumbs down?
