Toyota is gearing up to launch a TRD kit for the Toyota Auris in Japan, a leaked brochure published by a livedoor Blog user reveals.
The TRD kit consists of a black roof, roof spoiler, special race flag graphics for the bonnet and tailgate, two special wheel designs and black door mirrors. The brochure scan doesn't suggest the presence of performance upgrades. With the brochure ready, an official announcement is expected soon.
The JDM-spec Toyota Auris measures 4,330 mm in length, 1,760 mm in width, 1,480 mm/1,500 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,600 mm. The compact hatchback is available in six grades: 120T, RS, 180S, 150X"S Package", 150X and 150X"C Package". The 120T grade is powered by the 8NR-FTS 1.2-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine that develops 85 kW (116 PS) and 185 Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a Super CVT-i gearbox.
The RS and 180S grades sport the 2ZR-FAE 1.8-litre naturally aspirated four-cylinder petrol engine that delivers 106 kW (144 PS) and 180 Nm of torque in the RS trim level, and 105 kW (143 PS) and 173 Nm of torque in the 180S trim level. There's a 6-speed manual gearbox in the RS grade, while the 180S grade features the Super CVT-i gearbox.

The 150X grades sport the 1NZ-FE 1.5-litre naturally aspirated four-cylinder petrol engine. In the front-wheel drive model, this engine is tuned to produce 80 kW (108 PS) and 136 Nm of torque, and in the four-wheel drive model, these figures come down to 77 kW (105 PS) and 135 Nm respectively.
