Philippines is the Mitsubishi Xpander's first export market following which Thailand and Vietnam will get the new MPV, as per a report from Bisnis Indonesia.
Mitsubishi Indonesia's Sales & Marketing Director Irwan Kuncoro, speaking to the business publication, said: "In the initial plan, the export destination countries are the Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam." Mitsubishi announced the Mitsubishi Xpander in the first export market earlier this month and will commence its deliveries there in May. Meanwhile, in Thailand, the Indonesian-built three-row MPV is undergoing road testing.
The Mitsubishi Xpander is 4,475 mm long, 1,750 mm wide and 1,700 mm high. The SUV-styled MPV has a 2,775 mm wheelbase and a 205 mm ground clearance. It employs the 4A91 1.5-litre MIVEC petrol engine that produces 77 kW (104 PS) at 6,000 rpm and 141 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm. A 5-speed manual transmission or a 4-speed automatic transmission sends power to the front wheels.
