In a bid to expand its product offering in Indonesia, Tata Motors will launch the top-end VX variant of the Safari Storme at the 2014 Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS) which is scheduled to take place in September this year.
At the previous edition of the (IIMS), Tata had introduced the Safari Storme (base EX version) and other passenger vehicles such as the Aria and Vista. The company seems optimistic about demand, and hence wants to add another variant to the Safari Storme.
While the EX version of the Storme is priced at 285 million Indonesian Rupiah (INR 15.38 lakhs), the Storme VX will be priced in the region of 300 million Rupiah (INR 16.19 lakhs), reveals Manoj Arora, head of marketing and sales for Tata Motors in Indonesia.
The engine powering the VX Storme is the same used on the EX, a 2.2-liter four-cylinder motor outputting 140 PS at 4,000 rpm and 320 Nm of torque between 1,700-2,700 rpm. The Storme VX will be positioned as a Safari which promotes comfort, according to Mr. Arora.
Additional features in the Storme VX compared to the EX variant include dual front airbags, ABS, steering mounted audio controls, foglights, alloy wheels, parking sensors, leather seats and an entertainment system with a Bluetooth compatibility.
