The Tata Safari, despite its shortcomings has a wide fan base and the new Safari Storme could just expand it further.
According to the Safari Strome's Twitter account (which now seems to be suspended) the car started raking in good number of bookings even before the prices, variants and features are revealed. Tata Motors also have started teasing the car in form of a card puzzle in their official Facebook page.
The old Safari is still posting some pretty decent monthly sales figures and Tata Motors hope that the Safari Storme with its all new chassis and improved quality will continue the SUV's cult status.
The Safari Storme will be launched on Oct 17th and comes with the same 2.2 litre diesel engine but dubbed as the 'VARICOR' and is expected to be a much better unit. The five speed gear box would remain unchanged.
The Safari Storme looks like a facelift of the old Safari but under the skin it has the completely new X2 platform that debuted on the Aria.
The new SUV will sell at a premium when compared to the older version and has to compete with assortment of products such as the Renault Duster, Mahindra Scorpio, XUV500 etc.
