Tata Motors will soon launch a Neon Green colour on the Tata Nexon as a limited edition model. The carmaker announced on social media that the "all new limited edition version...splashed with neon green shade, is coming soon".
There are multiple reasons TML is introducing such a striking colour on the Nexon. Firstly, recent launches, especially in the crossover/SUV segments, have seen manufacturers attract customers using bold and striking colours. The 2018 Hyundai Creta (facelift) and 2018 Hyundai i20 (facelift) got the Passion Orange, the updated Maruti Vitara Brezza gets the Autumn Orange, and the Maruti Celerio X sees a Paprika Orange shade as its communication colour. These colours are clearly finding acceptance among buyers, especially of the lower age bracket.
Tata Motors is keen to cash in using the Neon Green Nexon (an Orange on the Nexon already exists under the name Etna Orange) to this young market who wish to stand out among the crowd of mundane colours. The second reason for Tata Motors introducing such an option is to cash in on the festive season period which sees a spurt in vehicle sales. If enough demand exists, the colour could be launched for regular variants of the Nexon too.
Powering the Tata Nexon is a 1.2-liter Revotron turbocharged petrol engine and a 1.5-liter Revotorq diesel engine. Both engines are available with a 6-speed manual or 6 speed automated manual transmission spinning the front wheels. Prices of the Nexon range from INR 6.15 lakhs to INR 9.61 lakhs for the Revotron petrol variants and INR 7.18 lakhs to INR 10.59 lakhs for the Revotorq diesel models, ex-Showroom, New Delhi.
