The Tata Nexon AMT that debuted at Auto Expo 2018 this month is now available to pre-order, as per a report from RushLane. Tata Motors is yet to make an announcement, though. Dealerships are asking for an amount of INR 11,000 for accepting pre-bookings.
The Tata Nexon AMT, like the Renault Duster AMT, has a 6-speed automated manual transmission. The AMT unit offers two selections - A (Automated) and M (Manual). Tata Motors recommends driving with automated gear shifts to achieve maximum fuel economy. The driver can select from three drive modes - Eco, City and Sport, a first for an AMT model in India. These multiple drive modes are available in both automated and manual modes of the transmission.
The Tata Nexon AMT does get the essential 'creep' feature. This function allows the car to crawl as soon as the brake pedal is released, without the driver having to press the accelerator. This function is helpful during parking and in bumper-to-bumper traffic. Hill-Assist feature is also present in the AMT model.

Tata Motors will offer the Nexon AMT in both petrol and diesel, with the same 1.2 L Revotron petrol and 1.5 L Revotorq diesel engines as the Tata Nexon MT. While previous reports suggested that the AMT model will top-out in an ‘XZA’ grade, the specimen on display at the Auto Expo had 'XZA+' badging. It will debut a new ‘Etna Orange’ colour with Piano Black Dual-tone roof option.
