Tata Motors has unveiled the Tata Nexon AMT at Auto Expo 2018. The AMT model debuts a new dual-tone exterior colour scheme with Etna Orange as the body colour and Piano Black as the (optional) contrasting roof colour. It is in a range-topping XZA+ grade.
The Tata Nexon AMT has a 6-speed automated manual transmission. In addition to clutch-free driving, it offers a creep function that makes driving in heavy traffic and parking easier. There's also a Smart Hill Assist feature that prevents the SUV from rolling-back during hill climbs in bumper-to-bumper traffic. The Tata Nexon AMT is the first AMT-equipped vehicle to have three drive modes, namely Eco, City and Sport.
The display model employs the 1.5-litre Revotorq turbocharged four-cylinder diesel engine that produces 110 PS and 260 Nm of torque. However, Tata Motors will offer the 1.2-litre Revotorq turbocharged three-cylinder petrol engine that develops 110 PS and 170 Nm of torque as well. Fuel economy figures aren't out yet, but the company recommends driving in the automated mode for achieving maximum fuel economy.
Tata Motors hasn’t revealed the launch timeline of the Tata Nexon AMT. Reports suggest that the AMT model will reach showrooms by next month.
