Head of Tata Motors' engineering department, Mr.Nagbhushan, announced that Tata Motors has sent 'Release Candidate Test Mules' of its One-Lakh rupee car- Nano from its Pantnagar plant to three cities Dehra Dun, Almora and Ranikhet in the state of Uttarakhand, where test runs would be conducted for a day or two in order to check the car's road ability and to implement final updates to the car's dynamics before production commences. He also confirmed that the car's bookings will be open anytime in the months of March and April 2009.

The spyshots and the RC test mules- all add up to a Soft-Launch very soon. As reported earlier, Uttarakhand government has provided Tata Motors additional 45 acres of land at its Pantnagar facility, where Tata presently manufactures it's mini-truck Ace, in order to help Tata Motors launch the car as early as possible.
Tata Motors had planned to invest Rs 1,500 crore at Singur but the investment was increased to Rs 2,000 crore, when it shifted its production site to Sanand in Gujarat.
The company is planning to produce the Nano from various satellite plants, including Pune (where the existing line-up of Tata Passenger cars are manufactured) and Pantnagar till the mother plant at Sanand is ready.
