The Tata Kite 5 compact sedan which is expected to go on sale in the country later in the year will have class-leading boot space, even bettering Tata's current compact sedan offering, the Zest. Mr. Pratap Bose, Head of design of Tata Motors confirmed to Indian Autos Blog that the Kite 5 has a best-in-class 420 liter boot, which is about 13 liters more than its closest rival.
In the current crop of compact sedans, the Hyundai Xcent boasts the largest boot space of 407 liters, followed by the Honda Amaze (400 liters), Tata Zest (360 liters), Ford Figo Aspire (359 liters) and Maruti Swift Dzire (315 liters).
The Tata Kite 5 which is based on the same platform as the Tata Zica (Tata Kite 4) will also be powered by the same engines as the hatchback. These include the all-new all-aluminium 1.2-liter three-cylinder Revotron unit and the 1.05-liter three-cylinder Revotorq engine. Tata confirmed the petrol engine's outputs to be 85 PS and 114 Nm of torque.

The compact sedan measures 3,995 mm in length, 1,647 mm in width, 1,535 mm in height and 2,450 mm in wheelbase. It rides on 15-inch alloy wheels and gets a 35 liter fuel tank, along with Tata's Multi-Drive driving modes.
