Overdrive magazine has tweeted out that Tata Motors is preparing to launch the Indica Vista with a more powerful 90PS diesel motor.
The Vista Quadrajet 90 was first reported (with spyshots) on Indian Autos Blog in late May. The Vista is currently motored by a 75hp version of the 1.3L engine, fitted with a fixed geometry turbocharger.
The branding of this new variant could be 'Tata Indica Vista Sport.' Under its nose, a VGT-equipped 1.3-liter Multi-jet engine turns the wheels and this unique specification may be offered only in the ZX trim.
Readers should not confuse the new variant with the currently selling Vista90, which is a 1.4L petrol-powered variant, delivering the same output.
According to Overdrive, the 90bhp diesel variant is appointed with the Manza's dashboard. The meter dials on the Manza are shifted to the driver side and a small digital computer sits in its place giving out data related to distance, speed and fuel consumption.
Tata adorned dark pink accents on the chrome content around the body and door mirrors in one of its test mules. Whether this gaudy touch features on the production version is yet to be verified. The Vista Quadrajet 90 may also get retuned suspension and chunkier rubber to add seriousness to the 'Sport' branding.
The cat is almost out of the bag, stay tuned to IndianAutosBlog.com as we track down this family-focused diesel hot hatch.
