After upping the price list of its entire portfolio by INR 25,000 in April this year, Tata Motors has now announced a price hike of INR 31,000 for the Harrier across all of its variants. The C-SUV's prices now start at INR 13 lakh* and extend up to INR 16.55 lakh*. The price hike comes in the aftermath of rising input costs and other unfavourable economic conditions.
Tata is expected to raise the price of the Harrier again in future when it introduces the BS-VI upgrade. The same was also spied a few days back. Currently the Tata Harrier packs a BS-IV 2.0-litre MultiJet II diesel engine with 'Kryotec' branding. It churns out 140 PS at 3,750 rpm and 350 Nm at 1,750-2,500 rpm. The engine comes paired with a 6-speed manual transmission is standard. There is no automatic transmission on offer currently, but at a later stage, Tata Motors will introduce an optional 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission which will be sourced from Hyundai.
The Harrier also received a software update recently, thanks to which its range-topping infotainment system gets a new software version 'Q5_R09.02', and supports not only Android Auto but also Apple CarPlay. Inside, it gets a large touchscreen infotainment system, semi-digital instrument cluster with a 7-inch colour TFT display, 9-speaker JBL sound system, Benecke-KalikoT Oak Brown perforated leather seat upholstery, door pad inserts and much more. Talking about the safety fittings, the Harrier comes with six airbags, Electronic Stability Program, Hill Hold Control, Hill Descent Control, Roll Over Mitigation, Electronic Traction Control and much more.
