Could hint at future accessories offered by Tata Motors.
At the launch of the Tata GenX Nano in Mumbai, Tata Motors showcased a unique model that featured exclusive bells and whistles, which weren't available usually. Although Tata didn't confirm it as a future top-spec model, it hints at optional extras and accessories that Tata could offer for the Nano.
Features such as sunroof, body decals, lower splitter, side skirts, black alloy wheels with red accents as well as a sportier interior with more color combinations can be seen in the accessorized Nano. Offering these on the top-end variant may defeat the motive of competitively pricing the Nano.
The Tata GenX Nano continues to be powered by the 624 cc twin-cylinder engine capable of 38.19 PS and 51 Nm of torque. It is matched to a choice between a 4-speed manual transmission or a 5-speed automated manual transmission. The GenX Nano MT returns 23.6 km/l whereas the AMT is good for 21.9 km/l (ARAI test results), making it one of the most fuel efficient petrol cars in India.
