Tata Motors unveiled the Bolt hatchback and Zest compact sedan a few days prior to the start of the Auto Expo. These new vehicles from Tata were in attendance at the Expo wearing a customized body kit.
Both vehicles sport larger alloy wheels (the Zest's is finished in silver, while the Bolt's is all-black) with low profile tires. A contrast red color is used to underline the grille and wing mirrors of both cars, thus giving them a sporty look. Adding to this sporty appearance is a full body kit including bumper spoilers and side skirts.
On the Zest, the bumper spoilers and side skirts are finished in a gloss black color, while the Bolt gets them in a gray shade. We hope Tata offers these customizations as accessories when the cars are launched in the second half of this year.
The Bolt, which is a heavily redesigned Tata Vista, is powered by a 1.3-liter diesel engine producing 75 PS and 190 Nm of torque. The same engine produces 90 PS and 200 Nm of torque on the Zest. The Zest diesel will be offered with a 5-speed manual transmission, or a 5-speed automated manual transmission.
The petrol variants of both cars are powered by Tata's newly developed Revotron 1.2-liter turbocharged engine which produces 85 PS and 140 Nm of torque.
