Autocar India reports that Skoda will launch its version of the Vento - the Skoda Rapid - in India during the festive season. The vehicle will have a revised front and rear end resembling the VisionD concept showcased at the recently concluded Geneva Auto Show.
Codenamed SK251, the Rapid will use the same 1.6-liter petrol and diesel engines. The usual practice of positioning Skoda models just under the VW counterparts will continue with the Rapide. Unlike the Octavia and Superb, the Rapid will have a conventional boot.
Autocar India has disclosed that the basic petrol version will be priced at around 7 lakh rupees while the diesel will set one back by about 7.80 lakh rupees.
