These spyshots courtesy of Zig Wheels reveal a special edition model on the Skoda Rapid. Dubbed the Rapid Ultima Edition, Skoda India would launch this special edition model in February next year.
According to Zig Wheels, the Ultima Edition would be something like a final edition on the Rapid, before the sedan receives a facelift in April next year.
On the outside, the Ultima Edition can be recognized thanks to a stripe running across the bonnet and roof of the car, while the bootlid gets an 'Ultima' sticker just above the 'Rapid' badge. We also notice side body decals and graphics with 'Ultima' logos.
Its reported that the Ultima edition will get a 'chequered theme' for some of its dashboard plastics, while two-tone leather seats will replace the current fabric upholstery. Other feature additions on this variant would be reverse parking sensors, a reversing camera, Bluetooth integration and climate control (the last two features are already available on the top-end Rapid).
The Rapid Ultima will be priced and positioned above the top-end Elegance trim, and would be available only with the diesel engine to begin with.
In October this year, Skoda India revised the Rapid by giving it projector headlights, a new steering design, steering integrated controls and so on. We're not quite sure whether these features would be carried on to the Ultima edition as well.
