The Skoda Kodiaq Scout that was introduced in early 2017 will be launched in India on 30 September 2019. This will be the second Skoda Scout for India following the Skoda Fabia Scout that was launched in April 2012.
The Skoda Kodiaq Scout is a more rugged version of the regular Skoda Kodiaq and it comes with Rough-Road package as standard. This package offers protection against damage to the engine and gearbox, underbody, brakes and fuel lines as well as cables.
The Scout variant benefits from a unique bodykit comprising slightly beefier bumper and more aggressive silver-accented skidplates. On the sides, it will make use of a slightly tweaked body-cladding and anthracite-coloured 19-inch alloys. Furthermore, its grille, wing mirrors and the rear-section will now come decorated with a comparatively heavy dose of silver treatment.
On the inside, the Skoda Kodiaq Scout features a wood and grey design theme. It also comes with Alcantara seat trim and Scout badging on the glove compartment and the front windows. In terms of mechanical features, it is expected to be kitted with a dedicated off-road mode for the drivetrain which complements its off-road prowess by adjusting the engine, gearbox and electronics for better driveability and control during the off-road situation. The Scout variant also offers a higher ground clearance of 194 mm (regular model: 187 mm).
The Skoda Kodiaq Scout will likely be offered with the same 150 PS 2.0L TDI diesel engine as the regular model. A 7-speed DSG and an AWD system should be standard.
