The Style trim of the Skoda Kodiaq has received a price cut of INR 1 lakh, dealers today confirmed to IAB. With this, the entry-level trim of the company's flagship product costs INR 33,83,995 (ex-showroom, pan-India). The price reduction should help the manufacturer boost the sales of the Volkswagen Tiguan-rival during the festive and year-end period.
The Skoda Kodiaq has been on sale in two trim levels - Style, and Laurin & Klement. Despite being an entry-level version, the former features full-LED headlamps, headlamp washers, LED fog lamps, 18-inch Trinity alloy wheels, LED tail lights, gesture tailgate and electrically-adjustable panoramic sunroof. On the inside, it boasts LED ambient lighting, Climatronic 3-zone climate control system, 8-inch Amundsen touchscreen infotainment system with navigation, 575-watt Canton sound system with ten speakers.
The Skoda Kodiaq Style offers a slew of safety and driver assistance equipment, including nine airbags, Parktronic sensors and speaker at front and rear, rear-view camera, hands-free parking, iBUZZ fatigue alert, ASR (Anti Slip Regulation), EDS (Electronic Differential Lock), TCS (Traction Control System) and ESC (Electronic Stability Control).
The Kodiaq has been on sale in a three-row, 7-seat variant. It measures 4,697 mm in length, 1,882 mm in width and 1,665 mm in height. The flagship Skoda model has 188 mm ground clearance and is available in four colour choices - Quartz Grey, Magic Black, Moonbeam White, Lava Blue, and Magnetic Brown (L&K only).
Powering the Skoda Kodiaq Style is a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder diesel engine that outputs 150 PS along with a peak torque of 340 Nm. The motor comes mated to a 7-speed DSG automatic transmission that powers all four wheels. The powertrain offers an ARAI-certified fuel efficiency of 16.25 km/l. Other than its cousin Tiguan, the premium SUV rivals the entry-level versions of the Audi Q3, BMW X1, and Mercedes GLA.
