The story in India is the opposite.
As the year 2014 is yet to be over, Skoda has created a new record of sorts, as the car maker has manufactured and delivered 955,300 vehicles across the world, which is 34,000 units more than the year ago period. In November this year alone, Skoda's deliveries surged by 10.1% to 90,200 cars, the best ever month of the Czech car manufacturer.
China is the strongest turf for Skoda till date and this year alone, 250,600 cars are being sold in this burgeoning market. Last month, Skoda's sales showed an upward tick of 46.9% to 26,800 units in comparison with the sales of 18,200 in the corresponding month of 2013.
A slew of new models are in the pipeline as Skoda is launching the new Fabia in new markets, and a replacement for the Superb is planned for next year. Going forth, Skoda will expand its portfolio with a new SUV as well.
As it is, the sales is nearing the mark of one million and the company is optimistic that it would end the year by crossing the milestone figure.
