Will be powered by four-cylinder engines only.
Fresh details are available on Skoda's all new 7-seat SUV which is codenamed 'A Plus SUV'. The company's head, Dr. Winfried Vahland, told Auto Express that work on the SUV is ongoing, and that it is ready to be signed off for production soon.
Dr. Vahland says that the SUV will not be an expensive product, but one within reach of many buyers. Its competitors like the Hyundai Santa Fe are priced as high as 40,000 pounds (INR 40 lakhs) for the top-end variant, however, the Skoda will be relatively less expensive. The SUV is likely to cost in the same range as the Superb.
Power for the SUV will come only from four-cylinder engines, and the V6 engine offered on the Superb will not be seen. Paired to manual and automatic gearboxes, the SUV will offer 4WD.
