The production version would come in 2017.
Sherco, the French-Spanish motorcycle maker known for off-road and enduro motorcycles, presented the Sherco Prototype 300 SEi-R at the ongoing EICMA 2014. The production version of the motorcycle is likely to come out in 2017, as revealed by an information display.
A two-stroke, single-cylinder engine with an electronically controlled exhaust booster valve displaces 293.14 cc, however, the power and torque outputs of this engine were not announced. Sherco only goes to say that the cylinder will have its bore and stroke at 72 mm.
The engine gets a Synerject digital fuel injection and a liquid cooling system with forced circulation. A 6-speed sequential gearbox with a hydraulic multidisc is used to transmit the power.
The 300 SEi-R rests on a Chrome-Molybdenum half perimeter frame and is suspended by 48 mm WP telescopic forks at the front and a multi-adjustable shock absorber for the rear. The front and rear get aluminium rims with steel spokes and feature Michelin's Enduro Competition tube. The front wheel is a 21-inch unit while the rear is an 18-incher.
The 300 SEi-R has a generous ground clearance of 355 mm and weighs a mere 105 kg. The off-roader features a 9.5 liter fuel tank and a 1,480 mm wheelbase.
