The EICMA 2014, the biggest event in the world dedicated to two wheels, is all set to kickstart tomorrow and here is a list of motorcycles that will have their world premiere at the show which will take place at Milan, Italy.
1. Kawasaki Ninja H2
The production-spec Kawasaki Ninja H2 litre class supercharged superbike will be one of the attention magnets at this year's event. Previewed by the insane Ninja H2R track-only model at the INTERMOT 2014 in September, the production version is expected to set a new record in terms of power output.
2. 2015 Yamaha YZF-R1
The highly anticipated 2015 Yamaha YZF-R1 which had its shakedown test in the hands of MotoGP legend Valentino Rossi will be another star this year. Yamaha has successfully managed to keep the important details under cover till the last moment. A track-only version is also expected to be offered alongside the road-legal superbike.
3. 2015 Ducati Multistrada 1200
Armed with the brand new Testastretta DVT (Desmodromic Variable Timing) engine, the 2015 Ducati Multistrada also sports minor design tweaks. The power and torque output has also been increased. Full details will be available tomorrow.
4. MV Agusta Brutale 800 RR and Dragster RR
The MV Agusta Brutale 800 Dragster RR (image) and Brutale 800 RR twins come with an updated triple-cylinder 798 cc engine which now employs two injectors per cylinder. The Dragster RR sports classic spoke wheels with machine forged wheel hub and dual-tone paint scheme.
5. MV Agusta Stradale 800
The Stradale 800 is based on the Rivale but is accessorized to be an adventure tourer. A prominent visor, panniers, and squared off exhaust tips are some of the changes. The motorcycle will derive its 798 cc inline three-cylinder engine from the Rivale.
6. 2015 MV Agusta F4 SBK
The updated version of the F4 SBK (customer version) offers pretty impressive performance figures. The limited production model offers 210 PS (207 bhp) of power which is 5% more than the previous edition while weighing 175 kg, which is 8% lighter.
7. BMW S 1000 XC
The BMW S 1000 XC (speculative name), a litre-class adventure tourer based on the S 1000 RR is expected to be one of the two world premieres from BMW Motorrad. The motorcycle has been spied testing earlier. The second motorcycle could be an updated K1600.
8. KTM 701 production bike and two new concepts
The Austrian bike maker has announced that it will unveil a large displacement single-cylinder motorcycle which is expected to be the production version of the KTM 701 prototype unveiled at last year's EICMA. The company has also announced that it will premiere two new concepts but no details have been shared.
9. 2015 Aprilia Tuono V4 1100
The Aprilia Tuono V4 1100 naked superbike gets a performance upgrade for the 2015 model year. The V4 engine has been re-bored to 81 mm which increases the displacement (hence the 1100 in the name). The power and torque figures stand at 175 hp and 120 Nm respectively.
10. Energica EVA
The Energica EVA, a naked sibling of the EGO electric superbike, will break cover at the EICMA. To be showcased as a prototype, the EVA will inherit its chassis and electric powertrain from the fully-faired EGO.
11. Harley Davidson Project LiveWire
The Harley Davidson Project LiveWire, an electric power cruiser concept, will make its European debut at the show. The project could result in a future electric Harley.
12. Matchless Model X Reloaded
The ancient British motorcycle brand which went defunct in the '60s is back in the race with its Model X Reloaded. The motorcycle will feature a 1,916 cc V-twin engine. Further technical details will be disclosed at the world premiere in Milan.
13. 2015 Kawasaki Vulcan S
The stylish 2015 Kawasaki Vulcan S cruiser will make its first public appearance at the show. Armed the 70 hp 650 cc parallel-twin engine (same unit as ER-6), the sporty cruiser is equipped with adjustable foot pegs and handlebars to suit different riders.
14. Yamaha YZF-R3
The newest 300 cc sportsbike is all set for its European debut. The R3's 321 cc parallel-twin mill produces an impressive 42 PS (41.4 hp) and 29.6 Nm of torque.
15. Terra A4000i
The Terra A4000i will make its European premiere at the show. The EICMA 2014 will also mark the Japanese electric two- and three-wheeler maker's foray into the old continent.
16. Honda RC213V-S production model
If rumors are to be believed, a production version of Honda's championship winning RC213V MotoGP race bike will be showcased in Milan. The motorcycle will have outstanding performance figures and a wallet-busting price tag. It could be called as the RC213V-S.
Further, numerous model year revisions, bespoke models, and highly exclusive two-wheeled machines will be attending this year's EICMA.
