According to Brahma Motors, an authorised Royal Enfield Dealer in Pune, the Royal Enfield Thunderbird X will be launched on the 28th of this month.
Though the dealer has not mentioned whether the 350 cc or the 500 cc version will be launched, it is likely that both variants will go on sale together. The Royal Enfield Thunderbird X range is a trendier version of the traditional cruiser. In a first, the Thunderbird X comes with alloy wheels as stock, with colour matching rim stickers. The fuel tank gets funky colours while the rest of the bodywork is all black. The powertrain and the exhaust are black as well. The bike gets relatively sporty handlebars and single piece seat for a slightly committed riding position. The brand has replaced the cushioned backrest with grab rails on the sides.

Expect the powertrain to remain the same as the regular Thunderbird. The Thunderbird 350 gets a 346 cc single cylinder mill that makes 19.8 bhp of power at 5,250 rpm and 28 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm. The Thunderbird 500 employs a bigger 499 cc single cylinder engine that is good for 27.2 bhp at 5,250 rpm and 41.3 Nm at 4,000 rpm. Gearbox for both the bikes is a 5-speed unit.

The suspension bits are also the same, with telescopic front fork and twin rear gas-charged shock absorber combo. Brakes include 280 mm front and 240 mm rear disc. The bike will rival the UM Renegade Sports S.
