The Royal Enfield Classic 350 Gunmetal Grey and the Royal Enfield Classic 500 Stealth Black variants were launched in India this month. Here’s a video walkaround of the bikes, courtesy Autobics.
Coming to the mechanical changes, the bikes borrow swingarm from the Royal Enfield Thunderbird, which allows a 240 mm disc to be fitted at the rear; a first for the Classic range in India. The front end on the two bikes gets the same 280 mm disc with a two-piston calliper.
The fuel tank, fenders and side boxes are finished in the new Gunmetal Grey colour for the Classic 350; and the bike gets Dark Tan seat covers.
The Classic 500 Stealth Black features matte black finish on the frame, fuel tank, engine casing, fenders and side boxes. The matte black exhaust and bend pipe get a heat-resistant coating. The spoke wheel rims and hubs come with black powder coating. It gets a single piece black seat.
The engines of the two motorcycles are the same as the donors. The Classic 350 continues with the 346cc single cylinder twin spark engine that’s good for 19.8 bhp of power at 5,250 rpm and 28 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm. The Classic 500 gets a 499cc single cylinder twin spark engine with fuel injection. It generates 27.2 bhp of power at 5,250 rpm and 41.3 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm. The two bikes feature a 5-speed gearbox.
Bookings for the two bikes have commenced. The Royal Enfield Classic 350 Gunmetal Grey costs INR 1,59,677; while the Royal Enfield Classic 500 Stealth Black is priced at INR 2,05,213, both on-road Chennai.
