The seater MPV which was pitted against Innova has failed to makes its mark and all Nissan could do now is to consider relaunching the product with some corrections in the marketing strategy. Meanwhile in the UK, its brother, the NV200 is all set to make a promising start as the London Taxi.

The NV200 London Taxi will debut at the 2013 Commercial Vehicle Show at Birmingham on April 9th along with the eNV200, the electric version of the car. The NV200 will be playing the prestigious role of plying the Londoners which was hitherto taken care by the China made TX1.

The NV200 is extensively modified to comply with the London Taxi norms. For example the turning radius of the car has been improved to 7.6 metre and the interiors are also redone according to the required specification.

The all electric eNV200 will borrow the drivetrain from the Nissan Leaf, one of the most efficient EVs till date. The 107 hp (80 KW) motor develops a torque of 280 Nm which would give the eNV200 a performance comparable to a diesel car. The range is expected to be almost equivalent to that of the Leaf. The battery can be charged to 80% in about 30 minutes.

Apart from the NV200 London Taxi and eNV200, Nissan will also showcase its range of commercial vehicles at the Show.
