Production volumes estimated at around 105,000 units per annum.
According to Autocar Professional, Honda Cars India will commence production of the next generation Honda Amaze from June 2018. It is currently being developed in Japan, and expected to feature a plethora of exterior and interior improvements.
The Honda Amaze is one of the company's top selling products in the country, pushing an average of around 5,500-6,500 units a month. With this in mind, as well as the expected growth in the sub-4m sedan segment, the company is, reportedly, estimating a production rate of around 105,000 units per annum.
The next generation Honda Amaze will likely source the changes from the next gen Honda Brio, which is expected to arrive in 2017. As of now, technical details are scarce, although the report suggests that Honda will increase their focus on safety so as to meet mandatory safety norms that will come into effect by 2019-2020.
On March 3, Honda introduced a much-needed facelift for the Honda Amaze, where changes were limited to visual, gearbox and build quality upgrades. It is priced from INR Lakhs 5.29 – INR 8.19 Lakhs (ex-showroom).
