The Ka is the best launch for Ford in Brazil.
News comes in from Brazil, the first market of the new Ford Ka, that order books have far exceeded the 7,000 mark for the hatchback. Ford of Brazil started manufacturing the new Ka at its Camacari plant in late August, and in the first full month of sales sold 7,088 units. As a result, the new Ka is reportedly the best launch for Ford in Brazil, even beating the EcoSport.
The Camacari plant, according to local media reports, has accelerated production of the Ka to meet the rising demand. Ford launched the Ka with a 1.0-liter three-cylinder flex-fuel engine which is capable of developing 83.8 bhp and 107 Nm of torque paired to a 5-speed manual transmission. A more powerful 1.5-liter four-cylinder motor is rumored to be coming later on in the product's lifecycle.
