The Mitsubishi Xpander had its public debut at GIIAS 2017 just last week and it is already in high demand in the market. According to a report from Autonetmagz, Mitsubishi has received nearly 6,000 bookings for the Xpander in Indonesia.
Mitsubishi Xpander customers won't have to wait much for deliveries. The production was scheduled to commence in October, but Mitsubishi will start manufacturing a month in advance, in September. Produced at the company's new Indonesian factory in Bekasi Prefecture, West Java Province, the Xpander will reach export markets next year. Philippines will get the new MPV in February, followed by Thailand, Malaysia and Vietnam later.
The Mitsubishi Xpander is 4,475 mm long, 1,750 mm wide and 1,695 mm (MT)/1,700 mm (AT) tall. It has a wheelbase of 2,275 mm and offers a ground clearance of 200 mm/205 mm. The 4A91 1.5-litre MIVEC petrol engine powers the MPV. Producing 104 PS at 6,000 rpm and 141 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm, this engine sends drive to the wheels via a 5-speed manual transmission or a 4-speed automatic transmission.
Mitsubishi offers the Xpander in GLX, GLS, Exceed, Sport and Ultimate grades. LED daytime running lights, 16-inch two-tone alloy wheels, electronically folding ORVMs and roof spoiler are the key exterior features. On the inside, the Xpander is equipped with engine start-stop button, leather-wrapped steering wheel, gearshift knob and parking brake lever, colour LCD MID and 2DIN touchscreen audio system with six speakers. Rear-view camera, HSA and ASC+TCL are the safety highlights.
