The Mitsubishi Xpander went on sale in Indonesia last month. Mitsubishi has received 40,000 bookings for the new MPV in the country.
The Mitsubishi Xpander is the production version of the Mitsubishi XM Concept. The three-row MPV competes with the Honda BR-V and the likes. Mitsubishi offers it in GLX, GLS, Exceed, Sport and Ultimate grades. Two-tier headlamps with LED position lights, 16-inch alloy wheels, LED rear combination lights, engine start-stop button, fully foldable second- and third-row seats, touchscreen infotainment system, reverse parking camera, dual-front airbags, ABS, ASC and HSA are some of the key features of the Mitsubishi Xpander.
The Mitsubishi Xpander measures 4,475 mm in length, 1,750 mm in width and 1,700 mm in height. It has a 2,775 mm wheelbase and a high ground clearance of 205 mm. Under the hood, is the 1.5-litre MIVEC petrol engine that produces 105 PS and 141 Nm of torque. Transmission choices include 5-speed manual and 4-speed automatic. Front-wheel drive drivetrain layout is standard.

The Mitsubishi Xpander's prices start at Rp. 189,050,000 (INR 9,08,254.22) in Indonesia. Mitsubishi has started testing the Xpander in Thailand. It will launch the 7-seat MPV in the Philippines and Thailand next year. Both countries will source the Mitsubishi Xpander from the Bekasi plant in Indonesia. Mitsubishi is considering the Xpander for the Middle East as well. A recent report said that the company sees Bolivia also as one of the potential markets.
