Just hours before the MG Hector's official unveiling, its specs and grade-wise features have leaked online, courtesy Team-BHP forum member ChiragM. Below is the equipment list and the spec sheet of the upcoming C-SUV.
The MG Hector will be sold with a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine (143 PS/250 Nm) coupled to a 6-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and an FCA-sourced 2.0-litre MultiJet II diesel engine (170 PS/350 Nm) paired with a 6-speed manual transmission. The fuel economy rating will be 14.16 km/l (petrol-MT)/13.96 km/l (petrol-DCT)/17.41 km/l (diesel-MT).
Additionally, a 48-volt mild-hybrid system that reduces fuel consumption by nearly 12% will be available in the petrol engine model. The fuel economy rating of the mild-hybrid variant isn't available, though. There will be four grades to choose from, namely Style, Super, Smart and Sharp.
Style grade includes front armrest, rear armrest with cupholders, 60:40 split and flat-folding rear seats, fast charging USB ports, 4 speakers, rear AC vents, dual-front airbags, cooled glove box, reverse parking sensors, four disc brakes, ABS with EBD, ESP, TCS, VSM, HHC and more.
The Super packs a 10.4" touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, 4 speakers + 2 tweeters, LED tail lamps, cruise control, chrome door handles (inside), reverse parking camera, LED rear fog lamps and more. Features like internet connectivity by SIM, online navigation, TPMS, remote car operation, 7" MID, four airbags, passive keyless entry, push-button start/stop, PU leather upholstery, 6-way electronically adjustable driver seat, chrome line on cladding strips, 17" machined alloy wheels will only be available from its Smart variant.
For the best comfort, convenience and safety features you will have to upgrade to the top-of-the-line Sharp grade, which will additionally be equipped with features like six airbags, panoramic sunroof, sunglass holder, heated ORVMs, rain sensing wipers, 4-way adjustable co-driver seat, auto headlamps, mood lighting in eight colours, and 360-degree around view camera. The MG Hector will be available in five total colours including Candy White, Aurora Silver, Starry Black, Burgandy Red, and Glaze Red. It will go on sale next month.
