Mercedes-Benz India today launched the more powerful E Class E350 CDI variant at INR 57.42 lakhs, ex-Showroom, Pune. Here is how the E350 stacks up with its competition. Note that the Audi A6 3.0 TDI is not in the comparison as the dealer couldn't give us a quote informing that the variant is discontinued.
All cars come with a 3.0-liter V6 engine, save for the BMW which gets a 3.0-liter straight-six motor. At 268 PS, the XF is the most powerful of the lot while the 5 Series is the least powerful making 258 PS. The E350 wins in the torque game with 620 Nm, while the BMW makes the least once again at 560 Nm.
The XF and 530d get an 8-speed single clutch transmission sending power to the rear wheels, while the E Class gets a 7-speed dual clutch transmission.
The XF is the longest car in this segment at 4,961 mm, and at 1,877 mm is also the widest. The E Class is the shortest and narrowest in its class at 4,879 mm and 1,854 mm respectively. The wheelbase too measures the shortest for the Merc at 2,874 mm.
The 530d gets a 520 liter boot, the XF is at 500 liters and the E Class gets a 490 liter volume.
In terms of price the XF is the cheapest at INR 54.98 lakh while the BMW is the most expensive at 61.86 lakhs (all prices, ex-showroom Pune).
