Mercedes has launched the CLA 45 AMG at the Auto Expo today. Though the CLA sedan is unavailable in India as yet, sales of the CLA 45 AMG will commence in the country shortly.
The CLA 45 AMG is powered by a 2.0-liter direct-injection turbocharged petrol engine that develops a healthy 355 hp, making it the most powerful four-cylinder engine currently under production. A whopping 450 Nm of torque is produced by this engine that comes mated to a seven-speed dual clutch automatic gearbox which sends power to all four wheels, under Mercedes’s 4MATIC all-wheel drive system. The gearbox uses Mercedes AMG's SPEEDSHIFT technology.
The CLA 45 AMG accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 4.6 seconds and achieves an electronically limited top-speed of 250 km/h. To differentiate itself from the regular CLA, the CLA 45 gets aerodynamic front and rear bumpers with carbon fiber trims, an AMG sports steering wheel and gear lever, carbon trimmed interiors, and three stage ESP with Curve Dynamic Assist.
