Dan Ammann, will take over as the President and will assume responsibility for the company's regional offices around the world, along with taking charge of Chevrolet and Cadillac brands along with GM Financial. Ammann currently serves as executive vice president and chief financial officer.
Mark Reuss, currently executive VP and President, North America will take Barra's seat as the executive vice president for global product development, purchasing and supply chain. Alan Batey, currently senior VP, Global Chevrolet and US sales & marketing will take over Reuss' role.
The change in leadership comes close on the heels of the US government selling off the last of its shares of GM on Monday. The sale left a $10 billion hole in the US Treasurer's pockets after it bailed the Detroit-based automaker in 2009.
