The Ertiga is major step forward for Maruti Suzuki. Not only will the Ertiga create its own niche in India, the company also has plans to export the Ertiga to other South Asian markets. The first market to receive the Ertiga after India will be Indonesia. The export of the Ertiga to Indonesia will start in May.

Suzuki has about 3 percent market share in Indonesia and hopes to increase it in future with the launch of Ertiga in Indonesia. The Ertiga will be exported via the CKD route. In the Indonesian market it will be sold only with the 1.4 K- Series petrol engine competing against the leader Toyota  Avanza and Daihatsu Xenia. Suzuki also sells the APV MPV in Indonesia but the Ertiga seems like a better match for the rivals.
