The TUV300 Plus is essentially a stretched TUV300 measuring 4,398 mm in length making it 403 mm longer than the donor car. It rides on the same 2,680 mm wheelbase, however. The extra length has enabled Mahindra to squeeze in jump seats behind the second row with space for 4 occupants.
With the small car restrictions no longer in play thanks to the length exceeding the 4 m mark, Mahindra has been able to plonk a bigger engine in the TUV300 Plus. It gets the Scorpio's 2.2 L mHawk120 unit with a power and torque output of 120 bhp and 280 Nm respectively. A 6-speed manual transmission is the sole option on offer. 4x4 is unavailable. Kerb weight stands at 2,410 kg. Wrapped around the steel rims are 215/70 R16 tires. Front discs and rear drums handle braking duties.
Customers will get to choose from four colour options - Bold Black, Majestic Silver, Dynamo Red, and Glacier White. Visually, the front looks nearly identical to the TUV300 save for subtle changes to the bumper. The rear gets different looking wraparound tail lights.
As per the brochure scan that surfaced last month, the Mahindra TUV300 Plus P4 gets only basic features such as a power steering, tilt adjust function for the steering, all four power windows, central locking, manual air conditioning, internally adjustable ORVMs, and two 12V charging sockets.
